Who we are

As a privately-owned Australian family business, FB Contracting (FB) was established in 2011 by the Fewster Brothers with the core business philosophy of providing clients with ‘top tier professionalism at a value for money price’. This founding philosophy remains strong with FB capable of delivering a range of pipeline, pump station and treatment plant services in both brownfield and greenfield environments.

Born and bred in regional Queensland, the Fewster Brothers are passionate about assisting rural communities to future proof their water requirements against drought conditions. This passion has seen the company collaborate with state and local governments to deliver large scale water transfer projects and recycled water schemes.

FB treat clients like family and take responsibility for providing exceptional service including certainty of price, justification of value and strong risk management.

We have a reputation for developing strong business relationships and as a result, maintain a diverse list of clients that include municipal water businesses, state and local governments and Tier 1 utility contractors.

The key to our success is our people. Our team of experienced project managers and engineers clearly understand project requirements, focusing on maintaining positive communication with key stakeholders throughout the delivery process. Our teams are ingrained with a proactive problem-solving mentality, that aims to identify and resolve potential issues during the project planning stages.

FB predominantly self-perform our contract works, utilising our experienced workforce of 150+ employees (varying project-to-project) and specialist fleet of plant and equipment in local, regional and remote areas.

Adam Fewster

Managing Director

With 22 years in the civil construction industry, Adam has gained the experience necessary to successfully oversee and deliver large scale, complex water and wastewater projects from concept and design through to construction, commissioning and close-out.

As Managing Director, Adam is known for a strategic and focused approach with an aim to limit risk, establish creative strategies for optimising operations, financial returns, external customer service and quality outputs.

Dane Fewster

Director - Business Development

A civil and mechanical specialist with extensive experience in the design, construction and project management of water and wastewater related infrastructure including pipelines, pump stations and treatment facilities.

Dane manages the Pre-Contracts and Bid and Estimating teams. Dane believes in developing an understanding of a potential client’s key challenges, concerns and needs; and structuring and managing proposals accordingly in order to ensure the best possible result for all stakeholders involved.

Director - Operations

Rhys brings a wealth of knowledge with a strong focus on innovation and quality coupled with his attention to detail and thorough technical knowledge, gives him an edge when delivering high-impact projects.

Rhys is a highly versatile and flexible Operations Manager, who is adept at successfully navigating a wide range of complex site challenges and implementing the learnings gained for the benefit of future projects.

Operations Manager - Treatment Plants

A capable and experienced Operations Manager with demonstrated success in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams to achieve high performance in complex water and wastewater projects, including government corporations and private sector business.

With proven experience leading projects involving water and wastewater, varying in size, and who offers over eleven years’ experience within the industry. Matt is able to consistently deliver successful projects without compromising on safety or quality.

HSEQ Manager

A safety professional with over nine years’ industry experience including Tier 1 in management in HSEQ processes, Kel is highly skilled in the development, delivery and monitoring of HSEQ systems, and effectively developing sustainable controls to reduce the overall risk of projects.

Kel’s experience is driving efficiency through compliance and positively engaging with stakeholders to ensure risk reduction, and improvement of overall safety and evaluation processes, in accordance with industry and legislated standards.

Natasha Ross

Account Manager

An experienced and qualified account executive with over ten years’ experience, Natasha has built exceptional relationships with new clients and manages strong relationships with existing clients.

During her four years with FB, Natasha connects regularly with key business executives, stakeholders and employees. She also manages the payroll department, processes incoming and outgoing payments and prepares financial reports. Analytical and organised with the proven ability to identify client needs, Natasha is skilled at making recommendations and implementing effective solutions.

Peter Jeffrey


A Construction Manager with over eleven years’ hands-on experience, Peter has a strong technical aptitude, highly developed mechanical and problem solving skills with a strong focus on safety, time and quality.

Supervising multiple projects in New South Wales and Queensland, Peter brings the experience necessary to provide effective and goal oriented leadership and organisation to project worksites.

Project Manager

A Senior Project Manager and Civil Engineer, Chad has over 20 years’ experience working in diverse industries including water, utilities, law and defence with a strong understanding of industry processes. Chad’s strengths include experience in risk management, stakeholder engagement and infrastructure commissioning and site engineering.

Chad specialises in full lifecycle project management of water and wastewater projects including program/project delivery and contractor supervision with an overall focus on budget, scheduling, quality and safety processes.

Project Manager

Jay started an internship in 2015 with FB while he was studying Civil Engineering. With over five years’ experience in the civil construction industry delivering multidisciplinary projects, Jay is a proven engineering and project management professional.

Jay’s practical and adaptive engineering style provides problem solving skills to the field that minimises downtime and maximises productivity. Jay is a results driven individual who prides himself on delivering products on time and within budget.

Project Manager

Nick is an experienced Project Manager and chartered Professional Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the construction industry and over thirteen years’ experience.

Skilled in all aspects of construction and project sizes, Nick has a strong business acumen along with a hard working positive attitude. He ensures the finished product complies with the requirements of the owner’s specification, whilst enabling the contractor to deliver in the most effective manner to enhance the bottom line.

Estimating Manager

Daniel has over eight years’ experience in the civil construction industry, focusing mainly on water and sewer infrastructure in the Queensland area.

He manages a small team of estimators crafting bids for private and government clients ranging from $500K to $13M. Daniel’s understanding of the project lifecycle, combined with his skill for efficient resource management and broad range of experience in the civil construction industry, ensures he is an exceptional Bid Manager.
