Roma Sewer Augmentation and STP Sludge Drying Beds


The Roma Sewerage Augmentation and STP Sludge Drying Beds were separate contracts that were delivered concurrently for the Maranoa Regional Council. The project was executed as an overhaul of the town’s sewerage network and treatment facility. The project was predominantly a construction contract, however included design responsibilities for the packaged pump stations.


Works Undertaken

Construction and commissioning of:

  • 3,525m deep gravity sewer DN525 PVC
  • 1,795m sewer rising main DN450 GRP
  • 790m sewer rising main OD125 PE100
  • 340m micro tunnelling gravity mains
  • 1 major pump station 12m deep (D&C)
  • 1 minor pump station 4m deep (D&C)
  • Concrete STP sludge drying beds
  • Integration and connections to the existing sewer network
  • Vacuum, hydrostatic testing and CCTV of pipelines and manholes
  • Testing and commissioning of pump stations
  • Reinstatement and rehabilitation
